Technically a newspaper, the Economist has been part of my weekly read since the early- to mid-2000s—my late high school and early university days. (It helped I worked in book shops through those years so could read it gently and replace it on the shelf.)
This blog focuses mostly on information design, although I always leave myself the space to discuss other facets of design. And over the years, many a week have I thought taking a photo of the Economist’s cover and writing about it. Over the years, 2,500 of those covers were designed by one man, Graeme James, and he passed away last week from cancer.
The Economist published an obituary and ended with noting James’ favourite cover, my screenshot below. They note they re-ran the cover for the 10th anniversary. One wonders if they would do the same with the 25th anniversary approaching and as a final tribute.

Credit for the piece goes to Graeme James. RIP.
